200 Female Developers To Follow On Twitter

There was a fair comment left on one of my older articles, namely, best accounts for developers to follow on Twitter. The comment left by Belma is as follows –

Thanks for the list. I’ve noticed only 4 developers who have identified as female on your list. Do you
have a more comprehensive list that includes more female developers? I’m starting out in this business and I’ve
found looking up to female role models to be more encouraging and motivating. Thanks!

I personally thought this was a great comment, and thus give me the motivation to compile a list of female developers to follow on Twitter. And if this list helps get more girls into development or programming alike, I’ll certainly do my bit.

To begin with, I asked Twitter users themselves for their advice, listing which female devs they currently follow, and so the list begins –

  1. I’m @laurennntweets and I code though that’s not all I tweet about. I think it’s a mistake to leave out @blackgirlscode because we are commonly overlooked. I know from attending the Kotlin conference in Amsterdam last October.

  2. Can you add @momscancodepgh group this is a global moms coding network, they offer virtual hackathons, mentors, bootcamps, and a co working room 24×7 to work along side other mom coders. the founder is @foundermama she should be on your female list, she set up this community a year ago, to promote mothers who want to work in tech.

  3. Woooould be nice to have some js code to pass on the console/a button maybe? that would tap into twitter’s API, have you sign in and follow everyone on the list ??

  4. Im new, but i have the passion. I would appreciate some follow and i would follow back. Looking to gain some mentors and friends in the coding world. I just started the #100daysofcode challenge and i would be posting a daily update of my progress. I would need help and encouragement along the way. My handle is @codeperm. Thank you all
